Fabrizio:

Rose:Rose De Witt Bukater。

gonna never forget you! RoseI don't know the steps!JackNeither do I! Just go with it! RoseIt's so unfair.RuthOf course it's unfair. We're women. Our choices are never easy. [climbing an on-deck staircase to the stern as the ship is about to sink]Male PassengerYea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death...JackYou want to walk a little faster through that valley there? RoseI don't see what all of the fuss is about. It doesn't look any bigger than the Mauritania.Cal HockleyYou can be blasé about some things, Rose, but not about Titanic. It's over a hundred feet longer than the Mauritania and far more luxurious. JackWell, yes, ma'am, I do... I mean, I got everything I need right here with me. I got air in my lungs, a few blank sheets of paper. I mean, I love waking up in the morning not knowing what's gonna happen or, who I'm gonna meet, where I'm gonna wind up. Just the other night I was sleeping under a bridge and now here I am on the grandest ship in the world having champagne with you fine people. I figure life's a gift and I don't intend on wasting it. You don't know what hand you're gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you... to make each day count. Molly Brown[on seeing the upended Titanic] God Almighty. JackRose, you're no picnic, all right? You're a spoiled little brat, even, but under that, you're the most amazingly, astounding, wonderful girl, woman that I've ever known...RoseJack, I...JackNo, let me try and get this out. You're ama- I'm not an idiot, I know how the world works. I've got ten bucks in my pocket, I have no-nothing to offer you and I know that. I understand. But I'm too involved now. You jump, I jump remember? I can't turn away without knowing you'll be all right... That's all I want.RoseWell, I'm fine... I'll be fine... really.JackReally? I don't think so. They've got you trapped, Rose. And you're gonna die if you don't break free. Maybe not right away because you're strong but... sooner or later that fire that I love about you, Rose... that fire's gonna burn out...RoseIt's not up to you to save me, Jack.JackYou're right... only you can do that. Old RoseFifteen-hundred people went into the sea, when Titanic sank from under us. There were twenty boats floating nearby... and only one came back. One. Six were saved from the water, myself included. Six... out of fifteen-hundred. Afterward, the seven-hundred people in the boats had nothing to do but wait... wait to die... wait to live... wait for an absolution... that would never come. Lewis BodineWe never found anything on Jack... there's no record of him at all.Old RoseNo, there wouldn't be, would there? And I've never spoken of him until now... Not to anyone... Not even your grandfather... A woman's heart is a deep ocean of secrets. But now you know there was a man named Jack Dawson and that he saved me... in every way that a person can be saved. I don't even have a picture of him. He exists now... only in my memory. Bert CartmellIt's a big boat, huh?Cora CartmellDaddy, it's a ship!Bert CartmellYou're right. RoseThe last thing I need is another picture of me looking like a porcelain doll. JackI'm the king of the world! [Upon boarding the ship with Fabrizio]JackWe are the luckiest sons of bitches in the world, you know that? RuthSo this is the ship they say is unsinkable.Cal HockleyIt is unsinkable. God himself could not sink this ship. RoseTeach me to ride like a man.JackAnd chew tobacco like a man.RoseAnd spit like a man!JackWhat, they didn't teach you that in finishing school? Cal HockleyWhere are you going? To him? To be a whore to a gutter rat?RoseI'd rather be his whore than your wife. JackThis is crazy.RoseI know. It doesn't make any sense. That's why I trust it. [as Jack sketches her in the nude]RoseI believe you are blushing, Mr. Big Artiste. I can't imagine Monsieur Monet blushing.JackHe does landscapes. Molly Brown[to the group who are dining at the same table] Hey, uh, who thought of the name Titanic? Was it you, Bruce?IsmayYes, actually. I wanted to convey sheer size, and size means stability, luxury, and above all, strength.RoseDo you know of Dr. Freud, Mr. Ismay? His ideas about the male preoccupation with size might be of particular interest to you.Ruth[whispering] What's gotten into you?RoseExcuse me.[She rises and leaves]RuthI do apologize.Molly BrownShe's a pistol, Cal! Hope you can handle her.Cal HockleyWell, I may have to start minding what she reads from now on, won't I, Mrs. Brown?IsmayFreud? Who is he? Is he a passenger? RuthTell us of the accommodations in steerage, Mr. Dawson. I hear they are quite good on this ship.JackThe best I've seen, ma'am. Hardly any rats. [being offered a lifebelt]Benjamin GuggenheimNo, thank you. We are dressed in our best and are prepared to go down as gentlemen. But, we would like a brandy. Tommy RyanMusic to drown by. Now I know I'm in first class. Thomas AndrewsThe pumps will buy you time, but minutes only. From this moment on, no matter what we do, Titanic will founder.IsmayBut this ship can't sink!Thomas AndrewsShe is made of iron, sir. I assure you, she can. And she *will*. It is a mathematical certainty. Tommy RyanThat's typical. First class dogs come down here to take a shite.JackThat's so we know where we rank in the scheme of things.Tommy RyanLike we could forget. RuthWill the lifeboats be seated according to class? I hope they aren't too crowded.RoseOh mother, shut up! Don't you understand? The water is freezing and there aren't enough boats. Not enough by half. Half the people on this ship are going to die.Cal HockleyNot the better half.Molly BrownCome on Ruth, first-class seats are right up here.Cal HockleyYou know, it's a pity I didn't keep that drawing. It'll be worth a lot more by morning.RoseYou unimaginable bastard! Cal HockleyYou're a good liar.JackAlmost as good as you. Old RoseI saw my whole life as if I had already lived it. An endless parade of parties and cotillions, yachts and polo matches. Always the same narrow people, the same mindless chatter. I felt like I was standing at a great precipice, with no one to pull me back, no one who cared... or even noticed. RoseI know what you must be thinking. "Poor little rich girl, what does she know about misery?"JackNo, no, that's not what I was thinking. What I was thinking was, what could've happened to this girl to make her feel she had no way out? RoseJ.J., Madeline, this is Jack Dawson.AstorHello, Jack. You're gonna get out of here, you're gonna go on and make lots of babies, and you're gonna watch them grow. You're gonna die an old... an old lady warm in her bed, but not here, not this night. Not like this, do you understand me?RoseI can't feel my body.JackWinning that ticket, Rose, was the best thing that ever happened to me... it brought me to you. And I'm thankful for that, Rose. I'm thankful. You must do me this honor, Rose. Promise me you'll survive. That you won't give up, no matter what happens, no matter how hopeless. Promise me now, Rose, and never let go of that promise.RoseI promise.JackNever let go.RoseI'll never let go. I'll never let go, Jack. Cal Hockley[stuffs coat with money and diamond] I make my own luck.Lovejoy[shows gun] So do I. Brock LovettDive six, here we are again on the deck of Titanic. Two and a half miles down. Three-thousand, eight hundred and twenty-one meters. The pressure outside is three thousand pounds per square inch. These windows are nine inches thick, and if they go, it's sayonara in two micro-seconds. JackI don't know about you, but I intend on writing a strongly worded letter to the White Star Line about all of this. [Looking at a salvaged hand mirror]Old RoseThis was mine. How extraordinary! And it looks the same as it did last time I saw it... The reflection's changed a bit. Old RoseIt's been 84 years, and I can still smell the fresh paint. The china had never been used. The sheets had never been slept in. Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was. Tommy RyanAh, forget it, boyo. You're as like to have angels fly out your arse as get next to the likes of her. [last lines]Brock LovettThree years, I've thought of nothing except Titanic; but I never got it... I never let it in. Lewis BodineIncredible. There's Smith and he's standing there and he's got the iceberg warning in his fucking hand, excuse me, his hand, and he's ordering MORE SPEED. Brock Lovett26 years of experience working against him. He figures anything big enough to sink the ship they're gonna see in time to turn. The ship's too big with too small a rudder. It doesn't corner worth a damn. Everything he knows is wrong. Thomas AndrewsI'm sorry I didn't build you a stronger ship, young Rose. RoseMr. Andrews... I don't want to be responsible for a panic. And get to a boat quickly, DON'T WAIT. You... remember what I told you, about the boats?RoseYes... I understand. RoseMr. Andrews, forgive me. I did this sum in my head and with the number of lifeboats times the capacity you mentioned, forgive me, but it seems that there aren't enough for everyone aboard.Thomas Andrews'Bout half, actually. Rose, you miss nothing, do you? [about his silverware during dinner]JackAre these all for me?Molly BrownJust start from the outside and work your way in. RoseHello Jack. I changed my mind. Rose[Rose is pointing out certain people to Jack before dinner] That's John Jacob Astor, the richest man on the ship. His little wifey there, Madelyn, is my age and in a delicate condition. See how she's trying to hide it? Quite the scandal. Cal HockleyRose is displeased... what to do? [Rose is telling the story of how she and Jack met]Lewis BodineWait a second. You were going to kill youself by jumping off of the Titanic?[laughing hysterically]Lewis BodineAll you had to do was wait two days! Smith[rushing to the helm after the iceberg strike] What happened, Mr. Murdoch?1st Officer William MurdochIceberg, sir. I put a hard a'starboard on the engines, full astern, but it was too close. I tried to port 'round it, but she hit.SmithClose the watertight doors.1st Officer William MurdochThey're closed, sir.Smith[walking on deck] *All stop!*[to Murdoch]SmithFind the carpenter. Get him to sound the ship.1st Officer William MurdochYes, sir! Ismay[Andrews enters room with crew behind him; he lays out architectural drawings on table, with Ismay behind him] Most unfortunate, captain!Thomas Andrews[perspiring and trembling] Water... fourteen feet above the keel in ten minutes. In the forepeak, in all three holds and in the boiler room six.IsmayWhen can we get underway, damnit!Thomas AndrewsThat's five compartments! She can stay afloat with the first four compartments breached, but not five![tersely to Smith]Thomas AndrewsNot five. As she goes down by the head, the water will spill over the tops of the bulkheads at E deck from one to the next. Back and back. There's no stopping it.SmithThe pumps... if we opened the doors...Thomas Andrews[interrupting] The pumps buy you time, but minutes only. From this moment, no matter what we do, Titanic will founder.Ismay[incredulously] But this ship can't sink!Thomas AndrewsShe's made of iron, sir! I assure you, she can... and she will. It is a mathematical certainty.SmithHow much time?Thomas AndrewsAn hour... two at most.SmithAnd how many aboard, Mr. Murdoch?1st Officer William Murdoch2,200 souls on board, sir.Smith[turning to Ismay] Well, I believe you may get your headlines, Mr. Ismay. IsmaySo you've not yet lit the last four boilers?SmithNo, I don't see the need. We are making excellent time.IsmayThe press knows the size of Titanic. Now I want them to marvel at her speed. We must give them something new to print! This maiden voyage of Titanic must make headlines!SmithMr. Ismay, I would prefer not to push the engines until they've been properly run in.IsmayOf course, I'm just a passenger. I leave it to your good offices to decide what's best. But what a glorious end to your final crossing if we were to get to New York on Tuesday night and surprise them all! Make the morning papers. Retire with a bang, eh E.J.?Ismay[Smith nods reluctantly] Good man. Lewis Bodine[narrating an animated sequence of the Titanic's sinking on a TV monitor] Okay here we go. She hits the berg on the starboard side, right? She kind of bumps along punching holes like morse code, dit dit dit, along the side, below the water line. Then the forward compartments start to flood. Now as the water level rises it spills over the watertight bulkheads, which unfortunately don't go any higher then E deck. So now as the bow goes down, the stern rises up. Slow at first, then faster and faster until finally she's got her whole ass sticking up in the air - And that's a big ass, we're talking 20-30,000 tons. Okay? And the hull's not designed to deal with that pressure, so what happens? "KRRRRRRKKK!" She splits. Right down to the keel. And the stern falls back level. Then as the bow sinks it pulls the stern vertical and then finally detaches. Now the stern section just kind of bobs there like a cork for a couple of minutes, floods and finally goes under about 2:20am two hours and forty minutes after the collision. The bow section planes away, landing about half a mile away going about 20-30 knots when it hits the ocean floor. "BOOM, PLCCCCCGGG!"... Pretty cool huh?Old RoseThank you for that fine forensic analysis, Mr. Bodine. Of course, the experience of it was... somewhat different. Irish MommyAnd so they lived, happily together for three-hundred years. In the land of Tír na nÓg, of eternal youth and beauty.
